CHUCK IN A BOX

 While traipsing through the blogosphere, I happened upon Margaret and Helen a blog written by an 82 year old grandmother – YES! there is hope for getting my mom on-line after all.  Anyway, there was a link to Conny Van Dyke’s Blog and it was on her blog that I came across her post Open Letter to Mothers of a Gay or Lesbian Child and thought, ‘Now THATS a cool assed mom!’. I can think of a number of parents who would benefit from reading that letter and, sadly, not just parents of gay or lesbian children.  I can think of one mother off the top of my head who has a less-than-perfect relationship with two of her three children.

 

I mean really, what kind of mother upon receiving a call from their oldest daughter says, “Oh, I thought it was someone important.” and then proceeds to hang up on the child??  Oh well.  You get what you give; reap what you sow and various other sayings.

 

But anyway – Ms. Conny Van Dyke – you are truly neat person and I wish you the very best!!
