Time for a Change.

The news is talking about record numbers turning out to vote in this election, I have mixed feelings about this.  First, I think it’s GREAT that so many people are taking an interest in politics and making sure their opinions and views are counted which is wonderful (especially for my guy Obama).  The flip side is ….. where the hell were these people in 2004?  Is it just that Barack has mobilized and energized SO many people or is it, as some of the Republican pundits claim, huge numbers of African Americans are registering and getting out to vote because of there is an African American candidate?  I don’t know.  What I do know is that I am elated to see elderly, Southern white folk who are behind Barack – that, to me, is just totally freakin’ cool!

More later time to go drive some folks to the polls!
Well it’s November 7th and I realized I didn’t get back to this.  Needless to say by now you know that Obama won – and needless to say I’m FREAKIN’ HAPPY about this.  Democratic President, my home state of Virginia went Blue after about 44 years of being a Red state; Dems have the House, the Senate, and the Big Seat – I hope that means that things will start to improve for the better.
Obama looked a bit weary at his acceptance speech – I think it may have dawned on him that now he has to start walking the walk – he did GREAT at talking the talk but now it’s time to show us what you can do Mr. Obama and I have nothing but faith in you.  God Speed!
